I Ate Healthy for 2 Days and Already Want a Burger
I went to grab lunch and took it home on Monday after work. I stopped at Bagel Express because I wanted to try something new. So, I decided to get a veggie burger.
I wanted to eat clean. I took several deep breathes for each bite. I got a side order of fries and a bottle of water so I could get rid of the taste in my mouth.
I forgot it was Meatless Monday. Then for dinner, I had black bean and spinach enchiladas, brown rice, and Mexican salad.
The next day for breakfast, I had a Drink Your Greens smoothie (which had Green Apples, Kale, Spinach, Avocado, Lemon and Almond Milk) with a chocolate donut from Whole Foods. I had to force myself to drink it. Do I really hate myself for doing this? Then, I had two Mandarin oranges and a rice cake.
At this point, I desperately needed beef, chicken, cheese, or anything good to give me some protein. I had to tell my friend that we’re going to Taco Bell for dinner.
I will tell you this: I felt a little different, but who was I trying to impress? I always take my daily vitamins to give me energy and all the necessary nutrients I need every day. I wanted to try to eat things differently, but I realized this is something I could only do every now and then.
The moral to the story is this: when you want to try something that your friend has, just ask if you can taste it, rather than buying and wasting it.
Side Note: I had this the other day and already want something sweet!
