Dakota Johnson Reveals She’s Allergic to Limes After Claiming She Loves Them

Updated: May 20, 2021

So, we can say Dakota Johnson has lied to the entire world about her love of limes. Last March, Architectural Digest blessed us with a tour of the Fifty Shades of Grey star's Hollywood home. Fans noticed that she had a bowl of limes, which they questioned about her obsession with the citrus.

"I love limes," the actress said, hovering her hand above the bowl of the fruit. "I love them, they're so great, I love them so much and I like to present them like this in my house." The video of her house tour has garnered more than 15 million views and nearly after a year that was posted, her love of limes may be a lie after all.

This past Tuesday, she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where she made a series of disturbing revelations about limes.

"I actually didn't even know that they were in there," she told the talk show host about her edible kitchen decor. "I was giving the tour and went into the kitchen and it was set dressing."

"I'm actually -- I'm allergic. Yeah, I'm mildly allergic," she told Fallon and said the citrus makes her tongue itch.

What worst about this is that Architectural Digest got in on this topic, tweeting, “This is honestly one of our favorite home tours, because we love green kitchens and limes and Dakota loves green kitchens and limes. We think? Now we’re confused.”

“It was hard to just ignore them, so I lied,” she explained to Jimmy Fallon. For the talk hosts part, he said he was “glad [she] came clean.”

Twitter users had a field day with the public service announcement, saying “Dakota Johnson selling her house and confessing she hates limes is the biggest plot twist of 2021,” one user wrote. Another remarked, “Dakota Johnson moving out of her cool house with the green kitchen and admitting to lying about loving limes like what am I supposed to base my entire personality around now???”
